You’ve heard of top  public universities in Bangladesh, but you might not know much about the private universities in Bangladesh, or even what exactly sets them apart from the public universities. That’s why we decided to do some research and figure out which  top private university in Bangladesh can be considered the best of the best. Here are the results!

1. North South University

Founded in 1995, North South University has grown from a small private university to a top-ranked private research university in Bangladesh. It was founded on December 24, 1994 as Dhaka College of Engineering and Technology by Dr. Chowdhury Mueen-Uddin. Today, it offers more than 40 undergraduate degree programs and has more than 16000 students on its payroll. It’s located at Mirpur Road in Dhaka and its main campus occupies an area of about 27 acres

2. BRAC University

BRAC was founded in 1972 with a goal of transforming lives, particularly those living in extreme poverty. It has since evolved into a full-fledged university that offers an array of degrees, including engineering and economics. It’s also one of only two private universities that provide a medical school program in Bangladesh. With its mission to educate social entrepreneurs and create an educated citizenry able to eradicate extreme poverty from society, BRAC is clearly focused on doing good for society. So it comes as no surprise that BRAC is ranked as one of the most selective universities in Bangladesh, accepting only around 6 percent of applicants for its undergraduate programs. Its annual tuition fees are about 20 times less than those charged by most U.S.

3. Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology

Located in Dhaka, AUST was established by an Act of Parliament in 1993. It aims to be a leading institution of science and technology and one of the top private universities in Bangladesh. Apart from an excellent faculty, AUST has world-class research facilities, including a solar power plant. Most of its students go on to study at prestigious universities abroad, such as Harvard University and Imperial College London. Its graduates are highly sought after by employers all over South Asia and beyond.

4.United International University

This private university was established in 2001. It is based on private university ordinance, 1992. It offer two kinds of majors: MBA and undergraduate course. Each year more than 4000 students are enrolled to study in undergraduate courses. There are many distinguished faculty members and it has a good location. Moreover, all of its students receive scholarships. Overall, it can be said that UIU is one of top Private University In Bangladesh because it creates an environment which helps student to study happily there.

5. American International University-Bangladesh

Taking into account a number of different factors, including size, tuition and selectivity, AUB has been ranked as one of Bangladesh’s top private universities. While AUB offers programs in all three categories (bachelor’s, master’s and Ph.D.), it does not offer an MBA program at present. Some notable alumni include Mustafa Kamal Pasha – former Prime Minister of Bangladesh (1996-2001) and current mayor of Dhaka city (2016), and Dr.
